What about illnesses and injuries?

It is always distressing if your pet is ill or injured. But even with the best of care it still happens.
With Scallywags insurance, you can afford all the necessary treatment and, if you and your vet agree, we can send payment directly to your vet.

All you pay is the first £30** of the cost of any course of treatment for an illness or injury.
You have no need to worry if your pet needs prolonged treatment - once you have paid the first £30** we will pay for treatment up the the policy limits.

*Death benefit relates to the cost of euthanasia and cremation following an insured injury or illness.
** £30 or 20% if your pet is over 10 years of age.

Cover for accidents and illnesses starts one month after you join the scheme.

Of course there are some treatments that we cannot pay for. These include:

	Injuries or illnesses which occurred or showed clinical signs before you joined the scheme
	pregnancy and giving birth
	dental treatment other than that required as the result of injuries
	special diets (other than the difference in cost above a standard, quality pet food)
